Necklace: A Tiny Patch of Blue
This piece is, perhaps, the closest to my heart. It goes under the name of A
Tiny Patch of Blue and was inspired by something my mother once told me. I was home from school on the long summer
holidays, the skies were leaden grey and I was miserable. My mother took me to the window and pointed out a couple of
patches of blue sky, telling me that if there was enough blue in the sky to make a sailor a pair of trousers then I could
be sure the sun would soon shine. What I didn't ask her was the size of the said sailor - if we were talking toy
sailors, well making a pair of trousers was easy. A real life sailor would be more difficult.
As with all
my pieces, the findings and non-glass beads are sterling silver. The beads themselves are hand made by artisan lampworker
Rob Johnson. This is a Princess style necklace measuring about 18" in length.
Supplied in a sturdy, shocking pink gift box!
